Welcome to my Blog

Me

Well I suppose when you start a Blog you should tell the world something about yourself and what you believe about life . . . so here goes.

I was born a poor black child :) (sorry I watched “The Jerk” one too many times. I mostly like Steve Martin, but like many comedians, I wonder why he has to resort to being dirty). I was actually born an AirForce brat in New Joysey (that’s how they say it there) and traveled a bit when I was too young to remember. I do, however, remember going to kindergarten in Deutschland (Weisbaden to be specific) before moving back to the States and settling in Spokane Washington where I grew up.
I lived (live) on the beautiful South Hill by Manito Park in a cool neighborhood where we used to play kick-the-can on summer evenings and stay out until after 10 8 PM talking on Phil’s front porch (Until my parents called my sister and I in with the cow bell).
(My mom read this, but emailed me instead of leaving her comment, so I’ll let you know that she informed me that my bedtime was 8PM.)
I attended Roosevelt Elementary School (no link because it’s just not the same- they tore it down and replaced it with one of those cookie cutter schools and besides, my favorite teacher (Mr Bridges) retired a few years ago), Sacajawea Middle School and historic Lewis & Clack High School (This is some times a problem as my children attend Ferris and I have been in the always fun and entertaining Ham on Regal- I just try to keep my background a secret :) ). I then went on to attend Oklahoma Christian College (now University), Preston Road School of Preaching (in Dallas), Spokane Falls & Community Colleges and Eastern Washington University where I graduated with degrees in Bible and Communications with a minor in Web Design. We lived in Germany for 3 years, I lived in Edmond, OK while attending OCC, Dallas and the booming metropolis of Llano, Tx, the deer capitol of Texas :) I moved to Llano after graduating from Preston Road where I was the enthuiastic and very immature Youth Minister. I then moved back to Spokane to work with the Northside college ministry where I married, Managed Pizza Haven and went on to a 15 year career in Sales. I worked for Standard Insurance, Keystone Packaging and General Binding. I parlayed my sales experience into a technical career as a Corporate Sales Rep. and then a Technical Trainer for CompUSA and the Community Colleges of Spokane. With that experience I moved into my present position. (2/08 Update- I have since moved to Alpine College where is served as the Director of Education and am currently the Director of Technical Training and Corporate sales for Esprit Technologies -Esprit Technologies & Alpine College are sister companies.family web page). I love to teach and have done so for many churches, the Community Colleges of Spokane, Alpine College & Esprit Technologies. I also developed the training program for my present (Former) employer. I currently work in the technology field. Previously for a national financial institution and now as the Director of Technical Training and Corporate Sales for Esprit Technologies (See above)
God is my rock and my Salvation and I love people. I am fairly outgoing (you might even say Gregarious) and I’ve very rarely met a person I didn’t like. I’m getting back into photography in a digital way, as time allows. I hope to use my skills to share the awesome joy and truths God has shown me through His creation and His people. I hope you enjoy and comment on the thoughts, questions and insights we share here.

If you want to know more about me (I can’t imagine you would), but you can go to my page on our family site and there’s stuff there and links to my His Holy Space profile, LinkedIn, FaceBook, (I have a MySpace- of course, but I don’t go there often) and other things I’m into…
